CPUs: E6750 v E6850

Wondering if anyone could comment on how significant the performance increase would be in jumping from an Intel E6750 (2 core 2.66) to a E6850 (2 core 3.00)?

Basic gaming desktop environment.  Won't be doing any huge rendering projects or major multi-tasking.

Is a E6750 more than satisfactory for the next few years, or is the E6850 a significant upgrade that would be a good investment?

You will notice the performance increase in benchmarks but in gaming/work environment.. nope.
The only thing that keeps me wishing on a wishing star.
