Will that be ok with the Corsair SP2500? And will it work with the Asus Sabertooth z77?

Hello.
A couple important notes: The soundcard is good, but requires a PCI slot, this means if you have many graphics cards (some cards take more slot space then 1 slot) you might not have room, it depends on your config. As far as the speakers -- if my memory serves me right -- that is a 2.1 speaker setup. With a 7.1 card and a 2.1 speaker setup you are really robbing yourself of the performance of the card. In this case, you'd actually be better off with A) A better set of speakers, or B) The onboard sound and not the soundcard. Onboard sound isn't bad these days. I do my own remixes and spend a lot of time editing / creating sound -- I still use onboard. Food for thought! Regards, Xii |

Like Xii said, onboard audio is not bad, you can always get better cards nevertheless that are dedicated. The SP2500 will work with the Sabertooth Z77.

Ah well i had thought the Corsair SP2500 would require a better sound card than the onboard as thats what most people have been saying.
Unless the Creative Labs Sound Blaster Recon3D Fatal1ty Professional 5.1 will do because it supports 2.1 I don't do any type of recording and im not much of an audiophile but i do like to listen to good sound. Edited by ArkansasWoman777 - 22 Nov 2012 at 11:36am |

Only audiophiles require sound cards nowadays, since onboard solutions (up to 192 KHz) outmatch most any card out there (e.g. 96 KHz in your example)
If you REALLY want the best of the best --or do a lot of recording-- you might give Asus Xonar Essence One' a shot.
