I know 4 cards in crossfire has never been released but..... So how much would four crossfireX 4870x2 radeon cards generate in terms of heat? I am guessing you would probably need liquid cooling for that and an upgraded powersource over 1200 watts? Do you think the computer would just fry with air cooling on 4 video cards in 1 computer?

Yes, you can do CrossfireX with four of the 4800 series cards or two of the 4800x2 cards.
You don't need liquid for the x2 cards and yes, you would want at least a 1000W PSU. |

Crossfire can do quad sli, its about as problematic as nividas version as well. Plus you gotta have a very nice CPU OC to stop from bottlenecking the cards.
