Last Wednesday I had ordered my lynx stage 1, and so far it’s stayed on stage 1. I know after the holidays it’s always hectic, but I was just curious if it’s like other systems I’ve seen where it skips from basically stage 1 to 7

Mine hasn't skipped any update emails as of right now. Received one for each of the stages, on stage 5 right now. As others have said, it seems the stage notification emails are slightly behind the actual progress. This results in a lot of people getting two at a time, at least I did. Mine was a Velox level 3 with some minor changes, if that makes a difference.

What I meant was I’ve seen posts about a system (the name I can’t recall, it starts with a v) saying that it was on stage 1 for like 15ish days then it jumped straight to 7

Not sure, I can only attest to my own order. This is the timeline of mine so far with the emails I have gotten:

Dec. 17th - Stage 1
Jan. 10th - Stage 2 followed by Stage 3 (Same Day)
Jan. 13th - Stage 4 followed by Stage 5 (Same Day)

Received all stage progression emails between 7:00 pm and 7:05 pm eastern time.

Again, I think I received two per day on the 10th and 13th because the updates via email lag behind the actual progress.

Judging by what others have said on the forum, a Level 1 Lynx typically ships out a lot sooner than a level 3 Velox. However, this is my first order with DS so maybe someone else can chime in that has been here longer.

The Lynx is a prebuilt and the Velox is a custom built. The Lynx will be checked and out the door, the Velox has to be built from the ground up so it takes a bit longer. Hope this helps.

So for instance if the velox took about 10 days the lynx would take 5?

It is a hard comparison to make since they are two distinct products.
The Lynx models are made as configured, stored and when an order is placed for one, it is processed, placed in the queue for testing (my guess) and then shipped if it passed.
The Velox's order, once processed, is passed along for gathering of the parts, putting together and testing, so it takes longer.

As to stages, the Lynx bypasses a couple since it is already built and only requires testing. Hope this helps. Generally, the Lynx will be out the door before a Velox, both orders placed simultaneously. A lot depends on the volume of orders.

I’m in the same boat 😁 I’m hoping that it’ll be here by the 28th, Alex had told me that it would be here by about then but the other day I called and the guy said it would be shipped on about the 29th, so it would be here on like the 3rdish 😞

I sent another email to Alex today, had a question about that time among other things, I’ll update with what he says 👍

If you're missing your "Verified Customer" badge, you need to make certain that both emails (ordering and forums) match EXACTLY. These are like passwords and are case sensitive.

I ordered a Velox ultimate about a week ago also with some minor changes. I called to make an additional cahnge and was told mid February. It seems like forever but I can wait. I do check from time to time but they haven't started building it yet. Its not a difficult build but loading software and testing is tedious and time consuming.

I ordered a level 3 Velox with a few upgrades and payment was processed on Dec. 17th. It shipped early this morning, delivery scheduled for Wednesday the 22nd of Jan. So just over a month from placing order to receiving it. It will take a little bit for them to get started and send you updates but once they do, they come regularly. The following were the dates of my updates:

Dec. 17 - Stage 1
Jan. 10 - Stage 2
Jan. 10 - Stage 3
Jan. 13 - Stage 4
Jan. 13 - Stage 5
Jan. 15 - Stage 6
Jan. 15 - Stage 7
Jan. 16 - Shipped

The large gap between stage 1 and stage 2 was likely due to both the Christmas and New Year's holiday closings. It helped my anxiety to just stop checking on updates lol.

Alex - That is very good to hear! I placed my order for a Velox build on Dec 16, and got Payment Validation on Dec 19th... Order moved into Phase 2 on Jan 14th, but on Jan 21st was informed that is could be 3-4 more weeks before the backordered Velox cases arrive.

So I changed my order to a Lumos case (Jan 21st) and was told it should be 7 - 10 days to complete the build. Still in Phase 2 on Jan27th.
