So I got a custom loop from you guys, and I am now getting close to 9 mos of ownership, and have started to wonder if and when I should be draining and refilling the loop. This is my first non-AIO unit so I could use an idea of when I should do this type of maintenance.

If it’s running fine and the fluid is not discolored then I’d leave it alone.

That said, some believe in a yearly flush and new fluid to prevent issues and others , including DS, believe it’s good for years.

I don’t have a custom loop, but if I did, I would “fix it” only if needed.

I had to change mine for replacing some fittings after about 2 years and it was pristine (clean and clear). So, unless you have some temp. issues or other coolant related problems, I'd go with bprat22 suggestion and leave alone and enjoy. Big%20Smile

Just curious, what is it mounted on and what is it cooling? Is it pigmented? Smile

I ended up redoing the tubing in my loop, adding a drain port, and flushing it after 18 months, due to some algea I saw in my res. I had a post on here around last September about it.

Sorry I had been super busy and couldn't come by, so this is a pretty good necro, but it is pigmented and running on the new 8 gen CPU, no GPU cooling

Enjoy.
Be aware that some pigments separate and may settle. I really do not have any experience with pigmented coolants. Always have clear.
