Yep, running a zalman liquid cooling system for only the CPU and its clocked at 4.0ghz, stable at 52c idle

He says 52c idle DST Seems slightly hot.. I'm running the i7 940 at 3.8ghz on Air, and my idle temps are no higher than 45c. What's your vcore to get it to that speed??

That was one test i forgot to do.. But according to everest my cpu was at 30c and the cores around 38-40.

Not that my cpu has anything to do with it but mines sits idle at 30c.

ya, i just now realized the radiator/pump for the liquid cooler was not working... My temps were going up and up... And i saw them ay 60c idle and i took my pc apart... the pump is broke soo i gotta get a new one but now i got the fan on it and its at 36c at 4.0 hmm wonder if i can hit 4.5 on water when i get the new pump tomorow or the next day |

Got a new one, this one actually works i made sure of.
New temps, 37c idle, not past 50c under load yet |

When you guys give CPU temps with multicore CPUs, how are you deriving the number? An average of the 4 cores, core 0 only, something else? My i7 940 is overclocked and the 4 cores "average" at 40 degrees idle using HWMonitor to measure.
