Hi all
My Digital Storm PC arrived last Monday, and I've fired it up and really put it through the paces the last few days, letting it run 3 days straight at one point. I've ran Crysis at Very High settings in Vista, same with World in Conflict with very good frame rates. It's a dual boot system, Vista Ultimate 32bit / XP Pro 32bit, Vista runs very smoothly, boots very fast, about 10 seconds or so from the welcome screen. This thing eats games in XP for breakfast, doesn't even break a sweat at highest settings and 1680 x 1050 resolution. Temps on the CPU under load stay in the 40's, almost never hitting even 50C. GPU temps have never broken the high 70's so far. I've loaded all kinds of software already, including the recording studio software and everything is running flawlessly.
I ordered it on the 12th of March, and picked it up from UPS the 31st of March. Dave, Duke, and Kelly were all very professional and helpful. I have to say that so far I couldn't be happier with the purchase.
On to the pictures:
Fresh out of the box
Let's look inside...
If Darth Vader owned a PC it would look like this...
And some pictures of my home studio
The only thing I'd like to experiment with is controlling the stage 3 fans for some recording situations when there is low load on the computer, I've spoken to Duke about trying some things, and if any of you have ideas for good solutions I'd really appreciate it. A number of the fans are not connected to headers on the mobo, and I'd like to hear about ways to control them.
Thanks in advance
Andoran

Man, if a cat walks too close to that thing when the side cover's off, it's a gonner.

Oh man that is one sweet rig.
You could rent out those fans for some Nascar wind tunnel testing.

First off... NICE!
Second, consider a hardware based fan controller. You can get fan controllers that install in either a 5.25" or 3.5" drive bay and control the fans that are not connected to a fan header. |

So many fans on that thing. I think that if the fan air pressure were directed downward, you could have yourself a hover computer. No wheeles needed! Is this thing going to need a 20"by 20" air filter ducktaped over the fans? |

find time to play.

Nice lookin rig. My last rig had that same coolermaster case & stage 3 cooling. The only thing I didn't like was that my rig was awfully loud. Nonetheless it does have that Darth Vader thing going for it.
![]() Congrats!
