From the day i ordered till today was about 6 weeks. totally worth the wait in this climate. i also have some fairly new parts which im sure took a little longer to put together. thank you to the individuals here that helped me make some choices. especially in regards to drives. set up was nice and easy. i did switch the ram out sin i had 64 gigs of 4000 MHz g.skilz trident royal from a previous pc. the bios picked up on this swap and adjusted perfectly. 12 then gen i9-12900k 3080 i got lucky and got a founders. asus z690-a mobo |

I would call Digital Storm and let them log in to your system and provide technical assistance. Shipping issues can jar contacts loose etc.
FYI windows 11 has a built in memory check called "Windows Memory Diagnostic" that you search for using the magnifying glass in the task bar. If the memory test fails, I would carefully reseat the memory. This has resolved issues for folks in the past. Beyond that I would verify that every wiring connection is fully seated. There are some sharp people on here that could help you assess the blue screens via dumps etc but I would have already called Digital Storm if it was me to have the wizards there figure it out. Appears to be a ram issue. Easy fix.
Removed 2 sticks dropped down to 32. Issues went away. Edited by tbcmahar - 07 Jan 2022 at 10:58pm |

Get DS to replace them with a new kit. Make sure you have clean power going into the system. Enjoy. |

I’m really glad DS stepped up to offer a 360 rad. I called them the week I got this rig complaining of high cpu temps on the 240. Their suggested was deal with it or out of pocket source a 360. Which I did because that was cheaper than frying my I9. Wish they just recognized the issue and offered some help then instead of turning their back. Fortunately everything else has been ok.

The problem seems to be the memory controller (at least on samples) is unable to handle overclocked memory (technically, any DDR4 operating higher than 2133 is an OC*) with all four slots populated. Beware before buying memory for 12th Gen Intel | JayzTwoCents (YouTube)
I am simply curious, what was the highest sustained/frequent temp? Most CPUs step down/under clock/stop boosting starting at ~95ºC. Safe maximum operating temps are typically between 100 and 110ºC. My point is the chip would have likely been fine. Nevertheless, of course, if a component runs cooler that's a plus.
There are a lot of safeguards in place to greatly reduce permanent damage. How much voltage does it take to hurt a CPU? | JayzTwoCents (YouTube) (The CPU does not die but, eventually, the motherboard temporarily locks OC-related settings in a fail safe-type effort.) * JEDEC's DDR5 standard is 4800MHz. Therefore, anything higher than that is an OC. P.S. The rig I am not normally into bling, however, the TridentZ Royal is sparkly dazzling. Edited by MrCheetah - 18 Apr 2022 at 11:43pm |
