My budget is 1500-2000. 2000 is a soft cap, if it goes over by 50-75 dollars, it's okay. The main use of the computer will be gaming. I want high fps, good graphics and smooth, lag-free online play with high/maximum resolution.
I worked out a build and would like if someone could help me with ironing out the details. Is there antying superfluous that i could cut out? Anything essential that i didn't put in? Please let me know. Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. I am curious tho, would the Raven chasis offer less noise than the HAF 922 you selected?

possibly, but hard to justify the price difference for a marginal difference in noise, especially if you are already at your budget
ill add too, that if gaming power is what you are after, dragoon's build is fine for a straight on attack, but for a little over your budget you could get a lot more gaming power with this build
if it came down to the last dollar, you could technically drop your power supply to 750w, but it would limit your ability to overclock your graphics cards. if that does not bother you, its a good way to get back under budget
when you say a lot of space for your music.. what kind of numbers are we talking about? 1tb? 2tb? Edited by !ender_ - 15 Sep 2010 at 12:19pm |

Ender, around 1tb with room to grow. I could stretch m budget a bit if it means significatly better quality. Does this build look like it's worth the extra money? Note: I do want to keep one blu-ray drive because I shall be watching movies and such on it.

Also, I am a bit nervous about the free overlocking digital storm provides. I hear it can make parts break down quicker and doesn't really offer in-game performance increases. Can anyone clarify, please?

Not sure where you heard that Spike, Over clocking CAN shorten the life span of some components, but if you keep them cool with quality Air or Liquid cooling systems you dont have any need to worry. DSO offers warranties and carefully tests their builds. The Stage 1 free OC is as bullet proof as you could ask for.

spike the build is looking good.. but did you mean to pick 2 intel 40gb ssds?
on the overclocking count, no on both counts, as majik said on the lifespan, plus overclocking shows huges gains in all aspects of computing
