From what I understand the ODE model is an excellent budget gaming PC.

This gives you the i7-2600k, much better than the Bulldozer.  The 2600k is a four core and the Bulldozer a 8-core, but the 2600 blows it away in all tests.

I went with the 750HX for a couple of dollars more because it is top rated and has a 7 year warranty.
 
I dropped the Upgrade chassis fan option because all it does is replace the HafX's  larger, quiet, and slow moving fans with small noisy ones. 
 
I changed the cooler to the A50 and added stage 1 overclock.  Air coolers are more reliable than the H60, and the H60 can get noisy.
 
 We like the D14 much better but your budget is tight.  Ideally if you could, the P8z68 V-Pro/gen 3 mobo with D14 and stage 2 oc would be ideal, but it does add $$$.
 
Most of your second build was real good.  The ODE 1 will give you the same gaming perfromance for less $$.  The custom build gives you better parts.

Hi Empalix, welcome to DS! :)

I don't know enough about motherboards, so I'll let someone else handle that, but what I do know is that the LED Performance fans are actually a downgrade from the stock fans on the Haf X case. (I think because they are smaller.) In order to switch out fans on this case, it would actually be $105. So I don't know if you still want to do that.

Everything else looks good to me. :)
