I just recent purchased and Dell U2711 to go along with my new computer. Though I have noticed that when I am playing a game, or even on the desktop, when something starts getting dark, my whole screen darkens, and when I get to something white it really brightens up.  Is this common, or is there something I can turn off so it no longer does this?

its likely some sort of wierd balance option, thumb through the manual and see if you can find any setting that could cause that
