I have acquired a Dell xps 9000 (i7 920) cheap....with the crappy intel stock
cooler.
When i attempt to run all 8 threads at 100% cpu, the machine shuts down after
it hits the high 80's...as it should.
I woiuld like to replace the cooler without having to remove the
motherboard........don't want to be bothered with touching a dell
motherboard. Might stink up my hands.
I don't need superior performance.....just something better than the intel.
Any recommendations for a replacement cpu cooler for the 1366 socket
that DOES NOT require removing the motherboard?
Thanks
and
Cheers

it should not shut down at 80C or 90C at 100C it will throttle, 105C shut down..
here is a cooler that goes on just like the stock one.
