I like that desk.
![]() Space for the rig on the desk itself, or underneath on a stand to keep the dust away. Mine from Sam's doesn't have room for the rig, so its on a separate file cabinet, next to it. |

I hate having to buy a new desk. It's really hard to find the right one that fits all your stuff correctly. The one you picked looks nice. I recommend going to several stores and looking at them before buying just to make sure it's exactly what you want and to check dimensions to make sure it'll fit in the space you have. Good Luck!!

I agree, fstcvc. After years of loading all my stuff into a desk, and positioning everything just so, the thought of New just doesn't do it for me.

That works, but I like the other more. The other one has the corner pull out keyboard tray and more room for the tower underneath if you don't place it on the desk. Not sure you could sit facing the corner with the second one, but hard to tell.

If you are looking for a truly custom design, you might speak with local craftsmen. If you want to go a different route, I've known people who used NextDesk and been extremely pleased with the results. I've also seen their desks in person and they are very high quality. They will pretty much build anything you want down to the tiniest of specifications. However they are very expensive, so the options you've been looking at above are probably the way to go.

I got nothing for you. I use a standard table with folding legs like you would see in a fire dept. banquet hall.
I will say I don't like keyboards down below but that is my preference.

Sorry to chime in to your post, but I too, am looking for a desk. I am trying to keep the cost under $100,
but I would like to be able to put the tower and screen on top, if
possible (with a decent amount of room). So far I have these 2 desks
found.
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Mainstays-Glass-Top-Desk/15657973 or http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BK31OUG/ref=gno_cart_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER Would they have enough room to hold a tower and a 24" monitor? Or would I just be better off putting the tower on the floor? Both desks are ~40" Wide. Any other suggestions would be great too! |

You're probably better off putting the tower on the floor, you don't want to accidently bump your tower off because you have no room. Plus with a 24 inch monitor i don't think it would fit, it might but probably a tight close fit. You could always buy two of them (the walmart one that is) and put the tower on the second desk.

Ok, some might think this is silly, but I like a lot of space on my desk, so I bought this:
http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S99806947/#/S99896735 And, the two attaching straight pieces like this: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S89806740 My desk stretches around the corner in my room and there is plenty of room. I put my CPU up on my desk, with my monitor and other stuff, like my printer, etc. I could put it below the desk, but no need since there is plenty of room. Best part is, the legs adjust, so you can set it lower or higher if you want. Also, if you look at the accompanying pieces, there is one with a CPU stand built into it. Lots of options, and top color etc. I guess you would say it's minimalist, but I like it. |

![]() Yeah its a shame they are so expensive! I know someone who is a designer that had them make a custom one for her. Its really neat, it has a separate "cradle" for the desktop, keyboard, and then a monitor arm. Then the entire desk can rotate in an upwards angle to form a drawing desk with a digital drawing surface built in. Its awesome, and probably cost about as much as a car, haha. |

NextDesk looks great! I've gone through a folding table to a custom-made regular desk in my review. Presently I use a glass table desk that I like better than the others. Her desk is also glass topped, and a lower, better height for a computer. You might try the IKEA catalogue. I'm lucky enough to have one of their stores near. Lots of options and ideas there and decent quality stuff.
