First thing the config gurus are gonna ask is, what resolution and what size monitor you playing on. Might as well post it now and give them a heads up.
For your budget the ODE 0 and 1 can't be beat, depending on res, IMO.

Um... I really don't know how big my monitor is. It's a Vision Quest, I know that. Buying a new monitor wouldn't be a problem.

You alwasy want to run your monitor at its native res, next thing you want to do is match your gpu power to support that res with the game settings you like to have.
so if you are looking at getting a new monitor let us know what size, if not tell us the model of your current monitor. |

I really have no idea what to do. I'm really naive. I rather someone tell me choices of monitors that would work with a desktop that would be good for gaming and in my price range.

I'll tell ya what I did.
I was on a similar budget so went with the ODE 0 for $1199, added warranty for $199 to get 3 year parts and bought the Dell ultra sharp ips monitor, u2311, now the u2312, for $279 on sale. I play at 1920 resolution, tons more than I had. It runs great with bf2, civ5 and crysis Warhead almost maxed out. I keep aa low but no big deal. With Bf3 and Skyrim coming out, I'll probably play at gamer level not enthusiast level, but I'll be happy with that. The ODE 1 will give you more cpu and gpu for better frames with up coming games, but a little down tweak in settings will still give a great gaming experience. ODE 3 with sli, 2 gpu's, ssd, solid state drive, etc would be alot better but now your talking $2300 before shipping and warranty upgrade. If ya can do it, great. If not, your in my league. Good luck. ODE, any of them, are great bang for the buck.

The dreadnought is a great case. But, and it's all up to you, the ODE 1has a better cpu(Brains), better gpu(graphics card) and better cpu cooler than the level 2 dreadnought for roughly the same money, plus you get better overclocking which helps in gaming.
If you want to custom build that's good. But the ODE lineup can't be beat. And no, I am not a ODE spokesperson. ![]() Questions are welcome on the forum. Nobody is born with the knowledge. Others will get back to ya soon, so keep in touch.

For 1900 x 1200 and games like bf3 and newer games you gonna want sli 570 or turn down the settings a good amount.
don't look at builds here with names, it does not work like that, we customize it for you based on what you need, for example I highly recommend you go with ode 3 (sli 570) or a custom build that can handle better upgrades. this is better then the ode 3, it has better case/mobo/cpu cooler/psu/sssd thus allowing for upgrade options that ode 3 can't do: Here you go Ticket# 601947 --- $2,819 (To see this build click here) Copy of Specifications: Chassis Model: Special Deal Hot Seller - Cooler Master 942 HAF X Exterior Finish: - Standard Factory Finish Trim Accents: - Standard Factory Finish Processor: Intel Core i7 2600K 3.40GHz (Unlocked CPU for Extreme Overclocking) (Quad Core) Motherboard: ASUS P8P67 Deluxe (Intel P67 Chipset) (New & Improved B3 Revision Without SATA 3G Issue) System Memory: 8GB DDR3 1600MHz Digital Storm Certified Performance Series (Highly Recommended) (Hand Tested) Power Supply: 1050W Corsair Pro Silver 1050HX (Dual/Triple/Quad SLI Compatible) Expansion Bay: - No Thanks Hard Drive Set 1: Operating System: 1x (120GB Solid State (By: Intel) (Model: 320 Series) Set 1 Raid Options: - No Thanks Hard Drive Set 2: Multimedia\Data: 1x (1TB Western Digital Caviar (7200 RPM) (64MB Cache) (Model: Black Edition) Hard Drive Set 3: Backup\Misc.: - No Thanks Optical Drive 1: DVD-R/RW/CD-R/RW (DVD Writer 24x / CD-Writer 48x) Optical Drive 2: - No Thanks Internet Access: High Speed Network Port (Supports High-Speed Cable / DSL / Network Connections) Video Card: 2x SLI Dual (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570 1.2GB (Includes PhysX Technology) Add-on Card: - No Thanks Sound Card: Integrated Motherboard Audio Extreme Cooling: AIR: Stage 2: Corsair A70 Dual 120mm Fans High Performance Cooler H20 Tube Color:- Not Applicable, I do not have a FrostChill or Sub-Zero LCS Cooling System Selected Chassis Airflow: Standard Factory Chassis Fans Internal Lighting: - No Thanks Enhancements: - No Thanks Chassis Mods: - No Thanks Noise Reduction: - No Thanks LaserMark: - No Thanks Boost Processor: Stage 2: Overclock CPU 4.5GHz to 4.8GHz (Requires Pro or Deluxe Series Motherboard) Boost Video Card: - No Thanks, Please do not overclock my video card(s) Boost Memory: - No Thanks, Please do not overclock my memory Boost OS: - No Thanks, Please do not tweak the services on the operating system Windows OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (64-Bit Edition) Recovery Tools: Windows Recovery Toolkit (Bundled with Windows 7 CD) Virus Protection: - No Thanks Office: - No Thanks Install/Test Game: - No Thanks Display: - No Thanks Surge Shield: - No Thanks Speakers: - No Thanks Keyboard: - No Thanks Mouse: - No Thanks External Storage: - No Thanks Exclusive T-Shirt: - No Thanks Priority Build: - No Thanks, Ship Within 5-15 Business Days After Order Is Successfully Processed Warranty: Life-time Expert Customer Care with 3 Year Limited Warranty monitors are separate of course. Most important thing about a monitor is its panel, right now there are 2 major ones, TN and IPS, IPS has superior picture quality/clarity. here are some: Dell UltraSharp u2312 Dell UltraSharp U2410M Now I know this is out of your price range but I just wanted to show you what you need. with your budget ode 1 is the way to go. No big deal, if the budget changes and you can do a system with one 570 but it could do sli 570 let us know otherwise for the money ode 1 is a great deal, you can add ssd later yourself.
