Hey guys,

I’m looking to get a new computer from digital storm by the end of the year, used mainly for gaming. I’d like to be able to run games at the highest settings without issue, and be able to handle whatever comes out in the future ( virtual reality, 4K/5K, etc.) I have a build set up that I’d like to get advice on to tweak or make better, I have done quite a bit of research but I’m still pretty new to setting up my own computer.

Here’s the ID code: 2037628

I don’t really have a set budget, I could go lower or higher if necessary. I’d also be open to suggestions about a monitor to purchase to take advantage of this setup.

Thanks for the help!

Hi Igogaming....   That's a nice build but I would change a couple of things.

If you're talking later this year for buying and want to be ready for 4K or better, then the RTX 2080TI being released later this month is what you want.

I would change your primary drive to the 970 Pro.  Its a M.2 using NVME  Pcie interface and is many times faster than the DS M.2 with SATA interface.  Not all m.2 are the same.

I would change the DS cooler for the Corsair H100i or H110i.  Corsair gives you 5 year warranty and the DS branded is whatever your system warranty is, usually 1 year parts.   They both work about equal but I like a name brand.

Your 1000 watt psu is overkill for any single graphics card.  If you plan on sli, 2x 2080Ti, then it makes sense.

You really can't plan now for anything in the future.  Monitor resolutions are going up, features like Ray Tracing on the new 2080 family are proving to be very demanding, etc.

Drop the overclocks,  Your 8700k is already at Turbo 4.7 for single core, 4.6 for 3 core, etc.   You will get 4.7 on all cores with oc, but not a big change.

Hope this helps. Big%20Smile
