shipping option for Canada on the checkout page would be nice.
paypal as a payment option would also be awsome. and I was curious if you guys have any plans on introducing DS Labtops? Edited by skyR - 06 Aug 2007 at 4:38am |

Paypal is already an option, right?
For more inexperienced people, it would be neat to have a reference chart that shows what the minimum processor is that you should buy in order for you to take full advantage of your video card and vice versa, along with memory, hard drives, etc. You could have the same discussion in the forum, but not everyone is going to use the forum.

When you select the 8600GT 512MB card and hit the button on the left for more information you get information about the 8600GT 256MB card. You might want to fix that...

OMG really? beacuse i swore i picked the 8800GT 512 and it said on my config that i picked the 256 so yea you guys should fix that.
And this may sound a little dumb but like have like already picked out configs like an FPS config and a MMO config so it makes it easier to pick what kind of computer the person is buying then they can configure it from there. |

Some of this is repeats from other messages but.....
1) Lots more info about case options
2) Link to Tom's Hardware GPU and CPU comparison charts.
3) Links to info about the motherboard options. I had no clue what the choices meant until I talked to one of you guys.
4) Describe the "Stages" of the build process. Maybe I'm blind, but I can't find a list any where. Don't even know how many there are.
5) Don't count on customers wading through the Forum. Kelly's Guides in the "Performance Related" section are great. I wonder how many potential customers find them.
DS can handle questions about this stuff over the phone, but the only way to survive long term in tech support is to answer as many questions as you can once in print, before you have to answer them 100s of times in person.

You be surprised how many people would rather call for help instead of reading the manual right infront of them.

skyR,
Agreed, many customers will just call; especially the the ones who aren't comfortable with computers. But at least some will read the info if they can find it.

Ensure that all of the options in the customize windows display a specific description of what is selected when the customer clicks on the "i".
I noticed that a lot of them were generic, which is ok, but also add the specific item's specs too.
And if you have something that says "recommended", this would be a good way to explain why... Edited by erommelus - 30 Aug 2007 at 3:18pm |

1. More Case Info - lots more! 2. Screen shots with the lights... Once I saw the crappy spot you put them they were the first thing to go.
3. If selecting Raid options... strongly advise floppy
4. If selecting No OS... Require floppy unless they call you and understand slipstreaming. And even if they do sell them one.
5. Simple stuff for Tech Support.. IE opening case. (Not side... Case) They may need to get to wiring on back side (I did to move lights to a toleratable position and it took me forever to get the back side off.)
6. Not sure this is web site.. but if you have to adjust the build config. Even if you talk to person send a confirmation of build as it hits stage 1 (2 things in mine were wrong... good thing I was showing off and a friend caught it)
7. And last but not least.. Drop the recovery system if you select no OS. You don't get one.
