for the 4gb DDR3 corsair 1333mhz is that 2gbx2 or 1gbx4?
I'd like to tigerdirect or oempcworld up to 8gb but I don't want to pay for ram I won't use (ie: buy 1gbx4 and have to toss it). And since Ram only appears to be for sale at the 2gb card level in pairs, It looks like I need to get 4gb off the bat.
Also, how easy/fun is it to add/replace case fans?
thats right, my questions come in pairs.
and not like a pair of pants, being you only get one, more like a pair of pears.

1. I just asked them that exact same question. It's 4 sticks. So we'd have to replace instead of just adding to upgrade.
2. It's always been pretty easy in my experience. Edited by Ratbreath - 12 Jul 2008 at 5:01pm |

is that the same for the 1600 at 4gb?
I wonder if there are alternatives (shipping dso my own ram, paying for the 2x2 upgrade, different speeds... bah!)

Talk to them on the phone about it, my sytstem with ddr2 ram came 4 gigs in a 1x4 config, I called and asked it to be switched to 2x2 config and they set it up that way. No point throwing sticks of ram away for a future upgrade situation. If you call up they should be able to take care of that for you.
Taken from the generated E-mail after my call concerning ram: Below is a summary of your conversation with Randy on 7/3/2008 around 9:29:17 AM (PST). Topic: Technical Support -> Stability Issues -> During Gameplay Comments: I spoke with this customer in regards to his order. He wanted to use 2sticks of 2gb dominator ram. He also wanted to see what brand ati 4870 videocards we would be using. Please Note: This is an automated email from our customer care management system. You will not receive a response if you reply to this email. Warm Regards, Customer Care Digital Storm Edited by Bismark - 12 Jul 2008 at 6:34pm |

bismark you made my day!
I'm guessing it might be a few bucks more because the higher capacity stuff always is, but spending an extra 50 or so makes more sense than pitching the lower stuff so I can hungrily have 8gb.
thanks for your help

No prob, and actually they didnt charge me any extra for the 2x2 sticks, but it may be different for the ddr3 as its way more expensive.
