Why is that I can order from Intel directly and pay a $1000 for the Core 2 Extreme processor QX9650 but pay DS $1077 for the same thing? And on top of the DS product I have to pay anywhere from $18 to $77 to ship it to Arizona. (Intel has free shipping when you buy the product)

Probably because they are not intel. They get their processors from a distributor who needs to make a profit, and they need to make a profit... so everyone throws in their percentage.
That is the price you pay for lifetime support on your PC and they also help with install on the phone... I dare you to call intel and say hey guys, can you walk me through the install of my heat sink, I am having a problem...

Thats a very easy answer. 1. you can't single order from Intel and if you could, it would not be $1000. 2. even if you could, Intel warranty does not cover OC or anything you might due during install that might mess-up the chip. |

I did the same. I must of spent over a year finding the best company to order parts for my custom rig. Good thing I found DS. Besides I really dont mind the price when its a few extra bucks when the rewards are worth it.
