°.·•°.·°♥ Digital Storm xm15 Level 2 Review ♥°·.°•.·•
Hello everyone~!! (^-^*)/ This will be my first Digital Storm xm15 Level 2 Laptop Review. O(≧∇≦)O Firstly, I would like to start off by mentioning that this is my first time purchasing from Digital Storm. The reason why I went with Digital Storm was due to the many months of researching for a certain laptop that would meet parts my needs (already have a MacBook Pro, and a Sony VAIO F Series Model VPCF22SFX/W laptop). I wanted to give something new a try, and after reading many positive reviews about Digital Storm for many months (to see if it meets most of my concerns, as well as my budget) and their customer service, I decided to give it a try. Hence, I was quite scared at first, because it seemed too good to be true. In the end, I ended up purchasing the Digital Storm xm15 Level 2 model (although originally I was going to go with the Digital Storm x17 Level 3 model). All in all, whether it was a good decision or not, so far it has been a pleasant experience for me. I have told many friends about how great my Digital Storm experience was (even though I had it for a few days), and many would say they never heard of it. I don't blame them, even I didn't until I did my research last December. It is amazing how much customers purchase from Digital Storm. Many of the customers keep coming back with superb satisfactions. I am surprisingly pleased with my experience with DSO, and I will definitely come back for my future purchase of a desktop from here.I will now begin with the dates, specifications, packaging, customer service, my impressions about the overall product, and the images. ..._〆(・∀・@)
° Dates: 12 June, 2011 – Ordered 13 June, 2011 – Stage 1 20 June, 2011 – Shipped 21 June, 2011 – Received
° Specifications (Default): Chassis Model: Digital Storm xm15 Laptop (Model: 5165) Display: 15.6 Inch (16:9) (Resolution: 1920 x 1080) (Glossy Surface) LED-Backlit Display Processor: Intel Core i7 2630QM Memory: 6GB DDR3 1333MHz Hard Drive: 500GB 7200RPM (SATA 3Gb/s) Optical Drive: DVD/CD 8x Multi-Drive RAM: NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M 2GB with NVIDIA Optimus Technology ° Packaging: Packaging was excellent (there was an outer box and an inner box). As you open the inner box, you will see foam blocks affixed above the laptop. Horizontally on the side, there are the discs that came along with it. Once you take out the discs and remove the foam blocks and the laptop from the inner box, you will see the laptop placed inside a plastic bag. The laptop has an anti-scratch plastic covering on both the lid and the screen. There was also a foam strip placed between the laptop screen and the palm rest area. On the side, there's a separate box placed beside the laptop. It contains the AC power adapter and the power cord. ° Customer Service: Although I haven't had much interaction with their customer service, I must admit that they reply quite quickly and formerly. Therefore, I will assume that the next time I contact customer service with some of my concerns or questions, it will be quite a pleasant experience. ° Impressions: The laptop's setup was fairly simple; as well as the laptop itself. Not just that, the screen is beautiful and both the style and features are quite unique (as far as I am used to). The speed of the laptop is quite smooth, as well as the quick shutdown speed of the laptop. The sound is quite loud, and as far as the keyboard goes, I am still trying to get used to it (the spacing gaps). As I inspected each assembled parts and features of the laptop, I must say the product is fairly excellent and the best out of all my laptops I have had or used. Overall, the build, the quality, the time, and the effort that was put into it is outstanding. DSO has exceeded my expectations and I am extremely pleased with my quality built laptop. I am now one of the satisfied customer of DSO. As a result of DSO's amazing work, I give them a thumbs up~! You guys truly deserve it. (≧∇≦)/ ° Images: Outer Box:

I'm considering buying the xm15. So far the only concern is the location of the speakers. I can't help but to imagine the terrible sound of muffled speakers when having the laptop in my lap/on a bed.
Can you comment on this? Many of the pictures show the laptop on your bed. eg. have you tried watching youtube videos in your bed? Edited by bcake - 27 Jun 2011 at 3:44pm |

The xm15/xm17 do not have the best speakers. The THX label is for the audio processing, and not the actual speakers. If you are planning to have your laptop on a bed/lap you will muffle the speakers slightly.
