Ok so i got my DS pc (ode lvl 2) last week and finally hooked it up today after 4 days of configuring my room and was wondering if i should install my drivers from the internet than the disks themselves? Right now i don't have internet so ill have to wait until then.
I was also wondering, when i put in the disk for my motherboard, there were a sh*tload of drivers for a bunch of things, are those all necessary?? So far i installed Intel Chipset Driver and Intel usb 3.0 driver from the drivers side, there is also a utilities side with a bunch of others, how do i know which i need/want? Thank you in advance!

First, I need to understand something. Did you just receive a newly built rig from DS? If so, you should not need to load any drivers right away. The initial drivers should have already been preloaded by DS. There should have been a DS binder with all the preloaded discs sent with your rig. After you get hooked up with internet you can go to the specific manufacturer websites and get the latest drivers. I use a software called driver detective to find the latest driver for my system.

Yeah i got the disks and the binder, and so what you're saying is that i don't need them as DS already preloaded the rig with the initial drivers? And once i get hooked up then ill update them, will driver detective find all the drivers for my pc?

DS as was said pre-loads the operating system and all drvers like usb 3. It should be a simple plug it in and have fun. There might be more recent drivers for your video card, but nothing that needs immediate attention.

I would recommend enjoying the PC. I know we like to get into the habit of trying to update drivers, etc... only the video card driver is something you would really need to check, the rest of the drivers should be left alone unless you're having an issue with the PC.

Say Alex why arent the video card drivers checked and updated to the very latest while its in stage 5? I know they change quite often but needs to be procedure to check every week period ! Its called dotting the Is and crossing the Ts .Nobody wants to be behind when they get there new system. This is especially true if half your clients arent computer literate.I know your going to say call computer tech support but shouldnt have to, if done before it leaves DS.

I would assume its because - they (DS) would want to use a driver set for awhile in order to be comfortable shipping it with their systems. |

Video card drivers are usually updated and the most recent. If there was a new driver that gets released a few days ago, we may not have fully qualified it into customer builds yet.
