Putting together a new system. Primary use will be gaming , mmorgs, fps but want to be able to watch all my tv shows.
So my question is should I stick w/ a 30" monitor ( I want big :D ) or just kick out for new hdmi tv ? I'm not up to date w/ all the tech so I'm not sure if I can get the resolution i need from a tv.
Budget for the comp will be around 6k , i'll price the display seperate based on your reccomendations.
Preferences - Blu ray player , 2x ATI 5970sli w/ liquid cooling.
Thanks in advance for any help or opinions you can offer.

You'd have to see the max res. you could get on your TV.
I have a 52 in. Panasonic and it's max resolution is like 1280x1024. It's really bad. |

30" is the way to go if its res is at the 2560 x 1600 range. for that res 2 x 5970 is a good choice IMO.

Thank you both for your advice.
Trying not to rush into it , want to have a nice rig that I can enjoy for a few years with minor upgrades. Might wait a few months for Nvidia to release thier dx11 cards, we'll see. :)

Great idea, take your time and see all your options, but I warn you now, by the time the fermi comes out, you will see something else that is just a few months away from release that is a good upgrade to what you have now
