Okay, I give up. How the "heck" do you:
  1. Upload image to your DSO user file area.
  2. Display images from your file area in a post.
  3. Display images from other web servers and/or FTP sites in your posts.
  4. Display images in your Signature.

Obviously, it's doable, and I ought to be able to figure it out, but after reading the FAQ and fooling around for a while, I'm still baffled.

To upload, you go to member control panel, click file manager, browse, upload.

To display them in a post or signature (no spaces):

[ img ]  http://www.digitalstormonline.com/forums/uploads/YOURACCOUNTNUMBER/FILENAME[ /img ]

Replace YOURACCOUNTNUMBER with your number. If you don't know your account number, you go to this link to find it: http://www.digitalstormonline.com/forums/members.asp?SF=&GID=0&SO=LU

Search for your username and go to your profile and look at the URL at the top:
http://www.digitalstormonline.com/forums/member_profile.asp?PF=8

The number at the end is your account number.

Replace FILENAME with the name of the file you uploaded to your file manager:

http://www.digitalstormonline.com/forums/file_manager.asp

somethingblahblah.jpg or somethingblah.gif

To display images from other websites, you use the same code. (no spaces)

This is exactly what I can't seem to do. From the File Manager page, I don't see a "browse" option. When I click on either of the "Upload" links I wind up on a blank page.

I realized today you insert images with the "Insert Image" icon duh...,
and I can upload from here, but not from the file manager. Oh well, doesn't really matter now. This will do. Thanks skyR.
