Hello all.
Received my second new DS pc (1853175) a few days ago and about to receive the new monitor, an Alienware aw3418dw. A 1440 diplay.

My question is as follows.
I will not be going 4k. Does it matter if I use the HDMI connection or should I use the displayport?
I have heard, but not verified, that to get the max 120 hz from the monitor I need to use the Displayport.
So is there anything I need to change or adjust to use the Displayport on the GPU (1080ti) or is it plug and play?
I figure I will have to adjust settings on monitor to indicate HDMI or DisplayPort.

Thanks,

Shot.

PS. After all these years and $ and still not a verified customer, lol.

HDMI 2.0 supports 120hz 1440p but the monitor and video card both need to support it. I don’t think that monitor supports HDMI 2.0, just 1.4. So use the DisplayPort.     The video card is a plug and play for the port being used.

You have to overclock the monitor, I think, to get 120hz, so it might take some tweaking.
