I found this on amazon.com... it's like $400 on DS, am I just better off buying stuff like HD's and sounds cards off discounted websites and doing it myself? |

that is not a good ssd, all ssds are not equal, shop for the intel x25 series (M and X) and ocz vertex series or corsair P series.
and yes its much cheaper and very easy to add/upgrade your sound card and HDDs. you can use my clone guide to move the whole drive data moved over to the new drive, os and all. |

Cool, good luck
keep in mind most of the ssds will have the best speed with their 250GB version, then the speed drops as the size drops, I find the 120GB versions to be the best deals. here are some vertex, the turbo seems great, but the regular vertex looks like a great deal. I assume this wouldent b much of a problem when you stay ontop of NOD32 and CCleaner though
what does defrag ACTUALLY do, i've never done it regularly

in a general way, it puts files closer together and organizes them. so that pieces are not scattered around the HDD.
nod and CCleaner have nothing to do with fragmentation. Edited by DST4ME - 13 Oct 2009 at 6:25pm |
