Docking Station for x17?

Is there an actual docking station made for the x17 platform or is there a Universal one that you all can recommend? I travel a lot and will be taking my x17 with me on business trips, but would like a docking station to setup at my home office or temporary office to make setting up more simple. I know it wil be going back to the hotel with me to game in my off time.

I don't have one but I've seen them sold specifically for our laptop.
 
You might want to call DS customer service and see if they can send one with your order. If not, your x17 laptop is based on the Clevo P170EM platform and there is a docking station made for that platform.
 
Ask DS....I don't want to point to other companies in their forum

I appreciate it. I did not have the option of ordering one with the mine, or see it in their upgrade store. I also wanted to order a couple of T-Shirts, but do not see them in there either.
I appreciate it, and will ask DS before looking elsewhere.

i just bought an extra power adapter. one for the home and one to travel with. if there really is a docking station, please let us know.

I spoke with DS and they do not offer one nor know if one is offered without a special order. As far as the special order, I am unsure of who to approach with that. Clevo I am assuming though having a hard time finding a number or email address for special requests.

Most larger laptops do not have dedicated docks as they are meant to replace a desktop, or a dock would be too cumbersome. I know that Clevo does not make a dock for the P170EM which is the laptop we have.

Alternatively, there are hundreds of universal laptop docks out there that would probably do the job.

Just google "universal laptop docks" with the features you want (usb3.0, ethernet, hdmi, etc.) and you should get some pretty good results. Read reviews and find out what's good.

I can't post a link to direct competitors because of DS forum policy.
 
The Clevo P170EM laptop is imported by Sager who then is the main reseller to most of the boutique builders including Digital Storm. That is common knowledge.
 
Some resellers of the P170EM platform (which is the same as our x17 laptop) sell a docking station for this laptop. You'll just need to do the research to find it.
 
It exists.....sorry I can't write more.
