I'm buying an external HD and read that sata are very fast for backups. I looked behind my case and saw one slot that said sata on it, but I want to make sure it really does support it, cause they are sort of expensive. Thanks.

While I'm not sure if you have an eSATA outlet on your case, your mobo does support eSATA. You can check the silverstone site... www.silverstonetek.com or sumtin like that. Look for the TJ-09 case.

It actually doesn't matter what case you have - the port is on your motherboard, and yes the XFX 790i has one external eSata port.Clap

Check out your motherboard manual for locations and configuration details.

If you got a SATA port on the back then yes it supports it.

I have 2 of these and they are very nice, they support both USB 2.0 and ESATA for external and internal it supports both IDE and SATA.

so with that case you can use your IDE but connect to SATA
