Laptops run hotter than desktops due to the smaller heat sinks, fans and tight spaces but your temps at 99c isn’t normal. The overheats could’ve been because of a bad thermal paste job, a bad fan or cooling vents or tubes restricted by sitting on your lap or dust buildup.
So, no, a new Avon shouldn’t have a heat issue. |

Welcome to the community, the laptops we ship out should not overheat on idle, or even under heavy gaming. They are all stress-tested before shipping and double checked by our QA team.

What do you mean by Plugged in? To the power supply? I am sure that laptop stressed without pluging it to the power can be dangerous because of not enough power.
And I have another question. What is maximal temperature when laptop is in stress? |
