looks ok you didn't post the price of your build.
DS has some special offers one for $3099 which is very nice with dual 280 GTX video card, it only has 850W power guess it's OK but from what I gather that's close to the dual 280 GTX need.
the special build only had air cool but it's got a high Over clock 3.2 GHz, I am not sure what you would get with liquid cool, but might look at the thread special offer ships today.
Also, you could find a better or cheaper monitor if you look to buy separate, I found the same 24" DS sells for $200 less (with rebate).

If I were going to liquid cool the CPU, I would overclock it. Otherwise there is probably no need to liquid cool it. I'd consider the 64 bit OS. Only 15 more dollars. Looks awesome. |

dtsme4 looks good could get 4-year was only thing I'd add now
I have a similar build on the way now, with one 260 video card but getting a second card shortly will try to get an idea if it's even necessary
I hope to run Crysis benchmark to see what gain I get form the second video card. Edited by rai-zero - 20 Sep 2008 at 3:17pm |

yes four year warranty is my recommendation, but his build has a few issues that needs to be fixed, so if he goes with mine he is good but his own needs to be changed
I think the second card should help with resolution but please be-sure to report how if any the game's frames or any improvements you see, thank you rai-zero |

I have a plan, if it works, I found a Crysis benchmark. I don't know fully how to do it but hope it will be easy enough for a computer noob like me.
I plan to run the benchmark and add the second 260 card and see what it does for the performance. I'll post the results in the review section I guess Edited by rai-zero - 20 Sep 2008 at 3:42pm |

Be aware that that benchmark tool does not play well with customized config files. I ended up with a game install that would not launch, and after a re-install to no effect, found it was the config file and personalized settings created by a mod. Somehow, the benchmarking tool wrote to those files in such a way as to cause extreme system instability, crashes, system freezes, and ultimately, failure to launch the application. I would create a restore point before using it, and do my benchmarking only with a standard install. |

thanks TL
do you think it's OK to run with the newest patch Crysis? I don't want to get wonkie.
Should I even run the benchmark?

Yeh most likely be going with Dstame rig spec ..but as you said before i need 2 graphics cards to run over a 1680 resolution if so should i get 2x 9800 or the 260's or would the rig need to be changed alot from what you already have made

260's
they are so close to the 280s that when going with 2 x 260 you won't be able to tell the differnce with 2 x 280 |

I actually did not find the benchmark all that useful in tuning my settings for the last part of the game. TBH, I probably would not bother with it unless you simply enjoy running benches. The hassles it brought were IMO not really worth the small amount of information I gained by running it.

I did, lol, it was a pain at first but once you get going it get really exciting, now I just can't stop , but in all fairness, I know alot of pros in the business and they helped me understand most of the stuff
make a ticket then call and order, you can give them your ticket number and they can look at it and take that ticket or adjust it, then move forward. |
