Budget:
[Around 2000$]

Expectations:
[I want this computer to be able to play any game that I have without lag and also be able to handle 3D programs as I am going to college for Multimedia and Graphic Design]

Usage:
[Video Games, Web Surfing, Youtubing, Editing Programs, 3D Modeling]

Saved Ticket #: [599710 ]

If anyone can just look at the ticket number and use that config. That is the premade Dreadnought Ultimate Gaming PC. If anyone has bought that one can you let me know how it performs and if it is as good at gaming as it says it is. I am buying this for christmas and using it to play video games especially the new ones such as Battlefield 3, Skyrim, The Old Republic and other programs like Adobe After Effects, Sony Vegas 10, Photoshop, Cinema 4D. If this is not a good setup please let me know what is. Thank You for you time!!! :D

I'm in basically the same position, minus the editing programs. Same budget and gaming expectations.
Some helpful information to provide:

- Are you looking for SLI?
- What resolution will you be gaming at?

Please bear in mind I am also new to building a pc, though I've done quite a bit of research on these forums. I'd recommend looking at the build I've been working on, which is very similar to many DST4ME has posted for others with similar criteria, and I am seeking feedback as well. I don't mean to hijack your thread, but I figure we're both in the same boat.

Notes:
- I originally went with an i5 2500k. From the research I've done, it should be more than enough, but I changed to the i7 2600k since I'm looking to the future. Same principle applied to mobo, so I went with the p67 deluxe over the m-pro.
- I went with the 2000MHz memory over 1600 simply because it was only +$46
- Went with a higher PSU to support SLI in the future.
- I did not go with an ssd or second 570 card yet because I plan to add these later for cheaper, a notion I share with DST4ME. This will keep your build closer to the $2k range.

Questions:
- Concerning the HDD, I've read elsewhere here that there is not a significant performance difference between the 32mb and 64mb cache versions. Could this be reduced for savings/money better spent elsewhere?
- I'm still on the fence about overclocking the cpu to that degree, as opposed to the free overclocking. DS recommends a liquid cooling system for that level, but I've seen DST use the a70 fans in several builds with this degree of overclocking. Thoughts on this?
*Edit* - Apparently the i7 2600k's have shown decent overclocking management with only air cooling. Thanks DST4ME and ablahblah, from other threads.
- Free OS tweaking - recommended or not? At first glance it seems great, though I read elsewhere here that Windows 7 is efficient enough it may not be all that beneficial, and you might miss those services later. I've defaulted to yes on the tweaking, however.
- For my resolution, I'm still considering monitors, but looking at a dell with 1920x1080 currently. Any suggestions?

My build: Ticket # - 599718 - Totals $2135 before shipping, etc.

@Siikzhot you have high requierments and low budget, for 3d you want a good amount of ram, for gaming at 1920 x 1080 with games like bf3 you gonna want sli 570.

the closest I can come to that is give you a system with single 570 and 8GB of ram, then down the road you add more ram., another 570 and a ssd:

Here you go Ticket# 599754 --- $1,987 (To see this build click here)

@Ninja650r, I highly don't recommend you go with that psu and the 2000Mhz ram is waste of your money.

That being the case, I've dropped the RAM down to the 1600mhz (-$46) and switched the psu to the 1050hx (+$44), so that worked out well. Thank you.

Would you happen to recommend the OS tweaks or not? That's really all I have left to consider. Just personal preference?

Now you are understanding what I mean when I say "get the most for your money", you took money from the ram that gave you very little performance and you put it toward a great quality psu that has a 7 year warranty, vs the 2 year of the DS 1000w.

Os tweak is say forget it, it was for the xp days when we had only 1GB of ram, we tried to save ram where ever we could, now we got quad core cpu, 64bit os, 8gb of ram, os tweak means nothing to apps/games speeds, and if you need one of those services then you got problems.

Absolutely, I'm all about efficiency, and thanks again!!

I hate to continue pestering with questions, but I suppose that's what we're all here for. Cool

I've noticed elsewhere where you've said to specifically request additional and/or colored fans for the HAF X models in the build notes? Do they not come stock in all the stock available slots, or is that a part of the Chassis Airflow upgrade? While we're on that topic, should I be aware of anything else to request in build notes?

(My apologies for the general, open-ended question there, but I'm still a newb Smile)

ask away, that is what we are hear for indeed.

ok lets see.

haf x can have four 200mm fans but comes with 3, one on the front 230mm red led, one side 200mm non led, one on top 200mm non led, and then there is option to add another forth fan on top 200mm non led that the case does not come with.

Now CM use to offer the 200mm non led fans but now they are gone, and CM has not made more.

all that is left now are the 200mm led fans (blue or red) so if you like you can add that to the top:

200mm red led fan

chassis airflow upgrade is something totally different and thats not what you want, smaller louder fans.

I don't see anything else to do to be honest.

Lol, I'm rockin a 6 yr old system. The highlights are a dual-core 2.8ghz processor, 2.5g RAM, and nvidia 8800gt. It came stock with 512m of RAM, and integrated graphics. It probably goes without saying that it's a 32bit system. So yeah, that should give you an idea. Smile

It's been time for an upgrade for awhile now, but that was contingent upon graduation with my bachelor's and obtaining a job to support this upgrade. So all I need is....um yeah, everything.
