Your budget
$2,500ish or less for tower and internals. I already have all my peripherals.

Use for your computer
40% Graphic design
40% Gaming
20% Non Resource-Demanding Activities

Special needs:
Performance + Longevity
I do graphic design work from home (on the side) and play a few semi-demanding games. Primarily, I sim race with iRacing but will likely get more involved with other pc gaming with the addition of this computer.

I could probably get by with much less in a build but truthfully, I want the best now so I may avoid the urge later to upgrade. Upset

I will be adding my current 1TB secondary HDD to this build once it arrives.. so no other drives are needed.

I plan at no point to add an additional graphics card. I have selected the best possible card (imo) and see no need for it within the lifespan of this build.

---------

Additional questions:

a) Do I have adequate cooling for this build with the overclocking level selected for both the CPU, GPU and overall system?

b) Is my PSU adequate?

c) Is there anywhere on this build where I can save $ and with little to no loss in performance?

---------

If you want to show us build you've picked / are looking at:

Hi Sean_Casto.......Your build looks real good, but I would suggest a couple of changes.

Change cpu cooler to the d14 air cooler.  The vortex you picked isn't that great and the d14 will cool better,, stay quiet and is very relaible.

Psu is adequater for sure.  For a better psu with 7 year warranty you could go 750HX but DS does have a 5 year extended with the 800W so your call.

Drop the graphic card oc option.  No sense putting stress on a already good card.

Drop memory fan kit.  You picked the best air cooled case and this isn't needed.

For the Recovery Tools, stick with the default with disc.  The partition would be more convenient unless you lose the drive and then you have nothing to fall back on.

My only other suggestion, depending on the level of graphic design you do is, consider the level 3 as a start for its X79 platform.  More money but the quad channel memory would help speed up editing, rendering, graphic design if it is ram intense.  But this option does go over your budget.

Hope this helps and good luck.Big%20Smile

late bump but I just wanted to say thank you for the help. I did indeed take the advise which you gave. Order sent in on the 7th and was already to stage 5 by the end of the second day (8th). I hope this means it will ship soon!

Do they usually ship the PC the same day it clears stage 6?

CongratsAwesome  I think the next day for shipping is a safer bet after stage 6, but ya never know.   Stage 5 can take a number of days, depending on how stress testing goes.
