Topic: Dreadnought: Review of my DS Desktop 269940 Posted: 13 May 2011 at 3:28pm |
This is my 2nd DS computer that I buy, the 1st one was purchased for my sister in law and the 2nd one for myself.
Took a little a bit over 3 weeks to receive my computer, from payment process to arrive to my house (west coast to east coast). Costumer service is nothing but 110%, very helpful and knowledgeable about any questions you might throw at them. The computer itself its nothing but total perfection from the specs that I chose, from wiring to benchmark testing. overall score to digital storm 11/10 I purchased my computer on April 18, 2011, here are the stages: Stage 1 - 4/18/11 Stage 2 - 4/22/11 Stage 3 - 4/22/11 Stage 4 - 4/25/11 Stage 5 - 4/25/11 Stage 6 - 5/02/11 Stage 7 - 5/02/11 Arrived at my house on 5/07/11 ( a week from west coast to east coast.... ) Order Contents: - Digital Storm Desktop 269940 Quantity: 1 $2,079.00 - PROMOTION: 10% Discount of $231 Applied to Digital Storm Desktop 269940, Original Price $2,310 Quantity: 1 $0.00 System Configuration: Chassis Model: Special Deal Hot Seller - Cooler Master 942 HAF X Exterior Finish: - Standard Factory Finish Trim Accents: - Standard Factory Finish Processor: Intel Core i7 2600K 3.40GHz (Unlocked CPU for Extreme Overclocking) (Quad Core) Motherboard: ASUS P8P67 Deluxe (Intel P67 Chipset) (New & Improved B3 Revision Without SATA 3G Issue) System Memory: 8GB DDR3 1600MHz Corsair Dominator DHX (High-Performance) Power Supply: 750W Corsair TX (Dual SLI Compatible) Expansion Bay: External USB Digital Media Card Reader Hard Drive Set 1: Operating System: 1x (1TB Western Digital Caviar (7200 RPM) (64MB Cache) (Model: Black Edition WD1002FAEX) Set 1 Raid Options: - No Thanks Hard Drive Set 2: Multimedia\Data: - No Thanks Hard Drive Set 3: Backup\Misc.: - No Thanks Optical Drive 1: DVD-R/RW/CD-R/RW (DVD Writer 24x / CD-Writer 48x) Optical Drive 2: - No Thanks Internet Access: High Speed Network Port (Supports High-Speed Cable / DSL / Network Connections) Video Card(s): 1x NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570 1.2GB (Includes PhysX) (EVGA SuperClocked 012-P3-1572-AR) Add-on Card: - No Thanks Sound Card: Integrated Motherboard Audio Extreme Cooling: AIR: Stage 1: Noctua NH-U12P SE Dual 120mm Fans High Performance Cooler H20 Tube Color: - Not Applicable, I do not have a FrostChill or Sub-Zero LCS Cooling System Selected Chassis Airflow: Standard Factory Chassis Fans Internal Lighting: Internal Chassis Lighting System (Red) Enhancements: - No Thanks Chassis Mods: - No Thanks Noise Reduction: - No Thanks CPU Boost: Stage 1: Overclock the processor between 4.0GHz to 4.5GHz (Cooling Upgrade Recommended) Graphics Boost: - No Thanks, Please do not overclock my video card(s) Memory Boost: - No Thanks, Please do not overclock my memory OS Boost: - No Thanks, Please do not tweak the services on the operating system Windows OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Professional (64-Bit Edition) Recovery Tools: Windows Recovery Toolkit (Bundled with Windows 7 CD) Virus Protection: - No Thanks Office: - No Thanks Benchmarking: - No Thanks Pre-Install Game: - No Thanks Display: - No Thanks Surge Shield: - No Thanks Speakers: - No Thanks Keyboard: - No Thanks Mouse: - No Thanks External Storage: - No Thanks Exclusive T-Shirt: FREE: Digital Storm T-Shirt - Black (Large) Priority Build: - No Thanks, Ship Within 5-15 Business Days After Order Is Successfully Processed Warranty: Life-time Expert Customer Care with 3 Year Limited Warranty Pics: Finally here..... can you put the cpu under load and then post temps, you posted idle temps, they don't tell us much, put the cpu under-stress for 30 minutes to 1 hour and have hw running in the background and lets see what you got.

you need to set linx at 4 threads to really stress the CPU. Dont get alarmed though with the temps youll see, your processor will rarley ever see these temps. very nice rig! If thats the overclock DS supplied you im glad theyre tweaking the voltages =)

Hey Alex, is this the location to post for costumer reviews?
Also I had another question, I noticed in the box with all the left over parts, they forgot to include the bracket to hold multiple graphic cards that come with the HAF-X any chance they can mail it or just call costumer support? Thanks Conan Edited by Conan - 18 May 2011 at 2:06pm |

@Conan,
Sorry about the delay, I've been extremely busy with some exciting new projects at Digital Storm. I added a video card bracket to our shipping list, it should ship within 2 days from here. I am also having our team move your thread to the "Customer Reviews" section. |
