Will I need to download the latest BIOS and GPU drivers when my new desktop arrives from DS?

Your rig should be up to date, but I've heard that a motherboard update that has just occurred recently might not be applied. You can check yours, but don't shoot from the hip if it's not the latest version. Sometimes there is a good reason the mobo has not been updated. It may be a beta version, or found to be less stable than the older version. I've been using PCs for over 35 years, and I have yet to update a motherboard. If there's any question, send an e-mail to:

As for GPU, the same general issues may apply. If you are getting an Nvidia, I recommend you check out Nvidia Experience. It has a lot of interesting features, foremost of which is a semi-automatic driver updater. (I think it asks if you want the latest driver, and then it does a wipe/install if you click yes. My GPU is a 1070 that has not needed an update in quite awhile, so I'm not sure how it goes these days. It was very convenient.)

I have had zero issues/faults using this software.

Still use Gforce Experience from nVidia, still works great with my RTX3080. Best way to keep your GPU updated if you go nVidia.
