Here is a video I recorded with FRAPS and posted to YouTube of a spectacular sequence in "Mirror's Edge", a fantastic game requiring a hefty PC to run it. Needless to say, my DS rig is more than equal to maxed-out graphics with full PhysX rendering and, amazingly enough, delivers 30 - 35 FPS even with FRAPS running, which kills FPS on lesser PCs. When FRAPS recording is not active, Mirror's Edge runs at 62 FPS on this rig. Make sure you get the latest NVIDIA drivers.
If this ain't the most amazing combination of cutting-edge gaming software with state-of-the art gaming hardware, I don't know what is. DS, you are given full -- and very well-deserved -- credit in the end titles. Feel free to use my movie for promotional purposes (if it's okay with EA, that is). And thanks.
(All comments welcome, both here and on the YouTube page)

It would be better if you could get the vid on YouTube in HD so we can really see the effects.

There should be some instructions on YouTube somewhere explaining how to. I think it really has to do with resolution and aspect ratio you record in and keeping that aspect ratio through the conversion process.

Sweet Video. I think by 3.3 GHz to 3.9 GHz he is saying thats the potential OC. Or he doesnt know what his OC is. Graphics are amazing in that game.

looks like you have speed step on
so that during tasks that require little CPU usage, the cpu ramps up to a low OC, like 3.3, and during high usage it ramps up even further like to 3.9, so that during low activity your CPU wont be under high temps |

Just post a cpuz screen shot. Your speed will always vary by a little, it will never be one number constantly.
<8) slunK parade if his OC was 3.9 Ghz, speed step would take his idle speed to lower than 3.3, Edited by justin.kerr - 08 Jul 2009 at 8:12pm |

cpuz? Sorry.
Everest reports CPU speeds but not inside games. Not sure how I can get it to do so. Maybe there is a way I can read it on the LCD of my G15 keyboard...probably not. Average CPU speed when desktop is visible appears to be around 3.4 GHz but this is a far from precise analysis.
I can imagine DS building in something like speed step; why build systems that can needlessly overtax an already overclocked CPU, especially when DS is on the hook for the warranty?

CPU-z
when you PC is under load take a screen shot of CPUz speed step is not some thing DS build its part of the mobo/cpu that intel themselves have put in there, its meant to help so that the cpu is not running full speed all the time, even when the extra power is not needed Edited by DST4ME - 08 Jul 2009 at 8:44pm |

does not matter if it is under load or not, lol all we need is a cpuz screeshot. lol If DS turned eist on, then he will be @ about 1.9Ghz at idle, either way it is easy to figure out.
