I set up a proposed configuration for purchase on Thursday and I filled in the request for Digital Storm to reiview it and get back to me by email or phone with your suggestions.
As of now I have received no reply and I am just wondering how long it takes to hear back from you. Most companies respond quite quickly when a sale is involved so I was rather suprised to hear nothing. Hope you can let me know when something might happen. |

Why they didn't answer back friday, I don't know, maybe they were answering someone else's questions. But it's saturday and DS is a small company and is not open 24/7
there's my 2 cents Edited by Weasel - 29 Mar 2008 at 9:43am |

if you filled it out thursday you will hear back monday. as weasel pointed out, DSO is not open on weekends.
Also the forums can provide support for system config choices
Also "most companies" doesnt span universally. Try emailing VigorGaming or IBuyPower and see how fast they get back to you
(i sent both of these build inquiries when i was shopping, that was in November, I have not heard back... DSO responded the next day. If they didnt get you it was a fluke)

I never heard back so I sent in a second configuration review request and havent heard back from it either. That is not very good response to a potential customer and I may have to find a vendor who is interested in customer service.

If your email address is Comcast.Net for some reason the automated emails do not come through. I encountered this problem and when I switched to my gmail account, the emails come through with out any problems.

If I may ask, Leveck, when you sent in your request, did you just send a configuration number or did you ask questions? If we do not have a specific question to answer, we don't know what we're looking for on the configuration reviews and therefore we answer those with questions first because when we are doing new order reviews, we always catch the mistakes or non compliant issues then before we process.

No offense....but it's easy to preech patience when you are not the one waiting for a response.
One of the by products of proclaiming that you have a committment to customer service is that people do indeed expect you to drop what you are doing and assist them. That's the reason why you order from a small boutique versus a big name manufacturer like Dell.
Just playing Devil's advocate....if DS isn't prepared to "drop what they are doing to help" many of the competitors will. Remember that old saying "you never get a second chance to make a first impression".
I am not pointing the finger of blame on the OP or DS, my point is that perspective customers who do not receive a response to their initial configuration request may choose to take their business elsewhere. I agree that calling DS is an option, but why call when you can e-mail a competitor that may provide an immediate response?
I don't want anyone to think I am trying to flame DS, I currently have two systems on order that are going to cost me in excess of $8,000+ so obviously I believe in this company. However, I do think that response to configuration requests is an area that could use some improvement.
