    Posted: 05 Mar 2012 at 11:29am
Hi, I have my DS system almost one year. My system was p8p67 platform, GTX 570 SLI, Silver stone 1000w power. The system is connected to one Dell U2410 (1900x1200) for working and gaming. The system runs well, quiet, cool. Recently I need use two monitor side by side and I have another Dell U2410 hooked up. Howerev, when I hook up second monitor, the graphic card's (especially second GTX 570) temp goes up quite bit even at idle. when I play game, the temp goes to 72 degree Celsius. Do this mean my GTX SLI 570s are not enough for two monitors? If i need to upgrade, will two AMD HD 7970s are good choice?

Thanks for the suggestions in advance!

Hi ifspring....the 570's should have no problem running two monitors.   The 72 degree celsius temp on the gpu is perfectly fine.  Anything below 85c is considered good.

If the temps are higher than you are use to , then maybe because you're stressing the cards more than before.   Download HWMonitor http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html   and run it while running a game that stresses your system,.   If Max temps on gpu stay below 80's don't worry.

Yep, for your resolution it's good.    The higher 2.5 Gb card is usually for higher resolutions. Don't t know what you play, but the sli 570' s on the your 24" at 1920x1200 is real good as long as your gaming on one and not across 2 monitors then settings would have to be lowered..       Happy gaming.
