Before I ask this question, I want to say that I understand that we arent supposed to bash other competitors.  That being said, I was hoping some of you could give me some good reasons why I should buy a DS machine over the competitors.

Without naming anyone else in here, I want to say that i bought a gaming computer from a competitor and it was horrible, and ended up costing me a few hundred bucks for shipping back and forth a machine that never worked.

If you check that companies forums, there are plenty of people raving about how awesome their machines are, just as there are here raving about DS.

Im a gamer, and want a gaming rig.  But Im also on a budget as I lost my job last year and had to take a significant pay cut at the job im working now.  I simply cant afford to buy another machine and have it not work at all, only to have to pay to ship it back again.

My wife thinks I should stick with a major company like HP or Dell and buy a high end rig from them, which isnt a horrible idea but they arent gaming machines by any means.  (and I cant stand the way the Dell gaming Tongue machines look)

Please help me...I need some piece of mind.  And please keep names of the competition out so we dont get the thread locked.

Tried to purchase a gaming computer from a major company who everyone knows and you mentioned their name in your post. (D) The experience was a disaster. Ended up canceling and ordering from Digital Storm. Nothing so far has made me regret that decision and the contributors on this forum were also very helpful in my decision on what to buy to fit my budget.

1. warranty-3years as opposed to most others 1 year
2. domestic tech support!  compare that to the major PC manufacturers
3. configurability seems to be better then the others.  really unlimited as you can add your own parts if DS doesn't carry them.  but honestly they just seem to have better options from the get go.
4. great support forum
5. non-proprietary cases/graphics cards
6. decent size power supply for the money (more worth mentioning if you were gonna go preconfig, otherwise you can get whatever you want).  IMHO others seem to charge a big premium for decent PSU that will allow to upgrade in the future.
7. considering all that quality DS have the best prices

those are some of the things that stick out for me

Dude, really HP or Dell that's a for sure no way.  The money you will be paying to get high end items would be horrible and there is no room for customization.  All the other competitors that can beat DSO as far as price have mostly the same DOA and all other amounts of problems that the one company you mentioned have.  Trust me, I researched for about 6 months before I finally picked Digital Storm.  Digital Storm gives you free 3 year warranty that is great man, and the machine you will receive will be built with expertise and great care.  The machine I received from Digital Storm blows anything I've ever thought of away it is truly the best decision I have made.  Also, if you notice in the forums and reviews of the site you mentioned there is no user name, and if you go to other sites there is nothing but complaints and a few good reviews.  That is because they delete the bad reviews, and lock a lot of the discussions if they are negative, leaving nothing but positive reviews on their sites.  Here, you actually see forum member names and can be 100% sure they are real people giving real reviews about unbelievable computers that run great.  Also, Digital Storm will try their hardest to keep you satisfied, go with them you will not regret it.

I have to agree with everyone here.  I have had a few parts go bad in the DS rig (Not DS fault) and they took care of me and sent me the replacements and I only paid a small amount for shipping.  If I would have had to use the RMA process with the manufactures I am quite sure I would still be waiting for those parts.

I can tell you for sure I will buy all of my future computers from DS because like you I don't want to buy a rig and have it not work or worse yet go thru that other companies Customer Support.

Look at the pictures of the DS rigs in the Customer Review Section and then open up one of the other companies computers and right away you will see a big difference.

Buy a DS and forget the rest.

I have to wait to get my DS rig. Looking at summer 2011 now. Waiting to move back to the states before I get it. Thinking about getting a server to go along with it. But I am sold on DS. Other than DS, that I build them myself.

So far DS is the best for me. Wish they had an office on the East Coast.
