Well look who made the cross country trip to NYC this morning....! DSO Agent 7047! And what is this???
Looks like he bought along some extra 'liquid cooling' for the ride....and it's not red..! I have this funny feeling that he stopped over in Vegas on the way so let's see how he performs on boot up...
So standby as I show him around, have a few shots, and add my review pics....

Surprise!!! The machine is flawless!!
Look how well DS has padded the internal components to soak up all that booze!
Let's carefully pull them out and perform a secure check of the components, a quick dust off with the air can, and a wipe down...

Eh, don't bother. I'm sure it will be empty long before that sucker gets going at full speed. Though it would be funny to watch someone play video games drunk.

Wow Costone, that's one extreme rig.
Don't forget to eat, or sleep.
P.S.: Twizzlers and Scotch don't count as "eating".
Chris W.- bribe one of the techs with a bottle of something nice to help you out, and get permission to work on your own rig after hours. I don't know if they allow that sort of thing, but that's what I'd be looking to do.

You clearly know what is going on over here... I am totally elated. Powered up at 8pm after some cable management.
The rig is purrrrring along at 4.0 and the three cards are sleeping...! Will post performance spec's soon...

LOL.....Yes Thanh, all your screws were turned a precise number of times to total perfection......not too tight and not too lose.....and no fingerprints anywhere to be found. Tell Jason and Alex that you deserve a huge raise in pay because I said so...
The rig is performing far beyond my highest expectations!! It's blinding fast and extremely quiet! I'd like to thank you and the entire DSO staff for putting together an amazing cutting-edge high-performance piece of machinery!
I'll put up some desk shots later today...
PS--Yes I will draw up the complete rig in 3D begining tonight and send you a sketchup file. I also contacted Silverstone for component support. So look for my new post on the 950si later on today.

Costone, what liquid cooling option did you select?
I have Stage 3 Cooling on DS 850Si and it is VERY, VERY loud. Heck, it's almost as loud as having someone vacuum clean 2 feet away from you. I cannot understand how someone can bare sitting next to such a loud machine.
If my system is not fixed over the phone, I am going to ship it back to DSO and ask them not only to fix it but also to switch me to liquid cooling. Edited by david5182 - 06 Sep 2008 at 10:30am |

David, He has our premium dual-loop triple-SLI cooling package.
A lot of customers here have the Stage 3 cooling system and don't have an issue with the noise, however, everyone has their own opinions. Stage 3 is definitely going to be noticeable since there are so many fans. Anyways, there are ways to slow them down, and we can switch you to liquid cooling if we need to.
Let's please keep the focus on this thread.
Cheers,
Alex

Coming up shortly...
Desk shots and performance are next...
The NVIDIA system monitor application is really a very nice interface to monitor your system temps....just pick any internal component and get the full story.

You're referring to their ESA system? Is it straightforward and easy to use if so?

Hey Widdlecat
Yes the ESA interface is great. Essentially it shows all of your critical internal components in a spinning 3D carousel. You pick one component like your CPU, or Memory sticks, or even the external case, and it gives you the results in tabs at the bottom of your screen.
I'll try to put up a screen...
Here it is....it is a bit dark but you can see the display data on my 30" mon.
