its changed, hoping to fit 4 x single PCB 295 LCed in an HAF with a GTX 420 on top, 1200w PSU on bottom and a classified, the GTX 420 is for the CPU (975), for the 4 x 295 I'm thinking of going with a 360 GTX in the back.
probably a OCZ 120GB SSD, 2000MHz ram, I think thats it. gonna change the SSD with an Intel x25E next year probably. Edited by DST4ME - 23 Jun 2009 at 10:55pm |

Well you will probably be waiting awhile for the blocks.
A 420 wont fit on top, but it will fit a 360. Would suggest not getting the radbox and the 360 on the back. 1x120 should be more than enough for the cpu (that's all I have and I run 4.25GHz 24/7). What brand for the 1200w? I'd also suggest calling in and either asking for someone to hold 4x295s or if they wont then ask if you can pay for them and have them held there as I am guessing they will go quickly like when we first got the 295s after their release. a 420 is a triple rad you know that right? I was told you guys can do it, where else can I stick a 360?
evga has the blocks out already but I was hoping to go with the DD ones but I guess thats something I have to think about. I was gonna go with the pc & cooling that you guys have for psu, but I'm all ears if you have a better recommendation. I thank you for your help Edited by DST4ME - 23 Jun 2009 at 11:04pm |

Oh your getting the 140mm... been a long day, thought 480.
It is possible to put a 360 on the back but looks like crap (i think) and is overkill for a CPU, especially with d0, keep in mind I have a c0. DD = crap (my opinion, others will say otherwise). I would highly recommend staying away from the pre-installed blocks as they usually get damaged in shipping, but who knows, they may have changed their packaging. PC P&C, good choice. |

everybody I have talked to, the first time thought I was referring to the 480 GTX, lol, the 420 is for CPU, I know its a bit much but I just want to play with it and see how it does first hand, the 360 is gonna be for the 4 x 295.
so where do you think I should put the 360 then? side? when you say pre installed blocks, are you referring to the evga's blocks? if so they come separate or I can order the GPU with blocks installed. either way its gonna come to DS for you guys to do all the work, lol I'm not doing any of it ![]() again thank you for your help, its greatly appreciated ![]() Edited by DST4ME - 24 Jun 2009 at 12:30am |

Well that was crap, lost my whole message. Damn you DS forums.
No problem. ;D You could probably fit 2x240s on the side panel of the HAF. This might actually be better since you could have 2x295 on one 240, and 2 on the other 240. Just ask for the quick release things to be added to the rads so if you ever had to work on it, it wouldn't be too difficult. Yes I was referring to the EVGA blocks that come on the card when you purchase it. If they sell it separate, I would definitely go that route. Is this going to be a dual loop setup? |

Wait what waterblocks will you be using (or will allow 4 295s to fit for that matter) Koolance? Their brand is the only one I've known that would allow you to have single PCB type cards fit with more than 2.
Only ones I can imagine that would allow say... 3x 285s to fit using their waterblocks. |

I think this one is what DST is talking about:
(that's the URL.. stupid spaces )
Honestly, DST should prolly get a freebie or a larger discount for continued tech and config support. Though in these hard times, i'm not sure it's wise... Edited by satsunada - 24 Jun 2009 at 1:14am |

That's the thing, with those waterblocks it would occupy two expansion slots no? I know people in this forum stated that with Koolance, it only occupies as much as one.

Wow that Koolance block looks really nice. I bet DST4ME waits for that now.
Edit: NM it comes out in 6 days, surprising since the original 295 block took a month. Edited by venom - 24 Jun 2009 at 1:45am |

Wha'ts a co-op card?
And reason why DST4ME wants 4, and this is WITHOUT SLI accessory, is he wants the raw performance of all 4 for whatchamacallit program. @Home or something? |

@ venom yes dual loop for sure.
guys this is the water block on its own, satsunada's link is the GPU with the water-block installed. OK looks like Koolance is the one for me ![]() and yes they are for folding, not gonna be in sli. I'm gonna ask DS to put a drain hose on both loops, so I can drain them easy and change stuff if I like. |

folding@home basically is a program that helps you fold protein to help find cures for many well known diseases, such as Alzheimer's, Mad Cow (BSE), CJD, ALS, Huntington's, Parkinson's disease, and many Cancers and cancer-related syndromes.

venom, if you have some ideas on how we can make the 4x295 fit in his system, come talk to me when you get a chance, so we can get the logistics of this figured out.

Hate to butt in, lol but to my limited knowledge, This motherboard will work. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131390
Also will need a case with a minimum of 8 expansion slots. like this http://www.lian-li.com/v2/en/product/product06.php?pr_index=131&cl_index=1&sc_index=25&ss_index=61
No matter if the GPU's are liquid cooled or not they will take up 2 expansion slots, unless they are modified. lol

LOL, nope, they will still take up 2, that is 2 expansion slots each. Unless DS wants to lop off 1/2 of the mounting bracket on each card. lol
Here, I took a pic, maybe will make more sense,

well if it doesn't fit then I'll just go with 3 of them on air, no biggie, but lets see. all they need to do is take off half the mounting bracked of the last one. the airflow side is not needed.

I bet you I could get our case modifier to cut off part of the card in order to make it fit.

I'm now going to strongly ask you guys to do that for the last card or maybe the 2 last cards, and be more then happy to pay for it.
come to think of it, I just checked evga's site and their LCed GPU has the same stupid mounting bracket ![]() ![]() ![]() Sarah can you please see to it and let me know the cost. I greatly appreciate it ![]() this whole time I thought that the bracket was gonna be single, excuse me for giving GPU makers more credit then they deserve ![]() Edited by DST4ME - 24 Jun 2009 at 3:16pm |

the 16x don't matter much to my use, even for gaming I only need 2 x 16x which I will have. I've been waiting for classified for a long time, can't wait to test it.
I rather lose the stupid part of the bracket to be honest, still can't figure out the reasoning, other then it may have cost them more money to make a new one. ![]() |

Hey DST, I was checking out the 295 cards, and that hdmi port is where that air vent is at. We may, and I cant promise this, but we may be able to remove that hdmi port if you do not need it, but im not sure.

I see what you mean justin.
sarah you got the dual pcb version. the single pcb from evga has no hdmi and in the specs there is no mention of hdmi either: co-op the dual pcb has the hdmi. please remember I want 4 x co-op 295 from evga. this card has no hdmi. and I will be registering them at evga also, so please make sure they are co-op version, I'm not interested in any other version/brand. thank you single pcb (co-op edition): ![]() dual pcb (red edition): ![]() Edited by DST4ME - 24 Jun 2009 at 4:37pm |

Hm, I do apologize then. I had a feeling it may have been the dual, but I did not see any in the computers yet. SO yeah, if the hdmi port is not on there, then we should be able to cut it.
