I was planning on going with dual 5870s, but since Femi is due shortly should I just wait.

1. There is alot of hype about the new nVidia Femi cards, but are they worth the wait?

I will be using my new gaming rig to power a 30" monitor at 2560 X 1600 res.

2. How does the Femi compare performance wise to dual ATIs??

3. Can you pair the new Femis and which is considered their top of the line card?

4. It that the card to get for gaming?

Insight would be helpful...thx forum!!!!

1. There isn't a whole lot of info on the cards out yet.  Some benchmarks can be found but I wouldn't consider them to be reliable in the least bit, they also don't specify if they have a 470 or 480.  See

http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/hardware-canucks-reviews/27892-nvidia-s-geforce-gf100-under-microscope-13.html

2.  Can't find any other benchmarks.  NDA?

3. Both the 470 and 480 are single GPU cards, SLI and 3x SLI should not be a problem.

4. Gamers will be the focus audience for these cards.

1. yes they are worth the wait, not only to see what they can do but they will also drop prices on the ati possibly.

2. from what I have seen its suppose to beat the ati, and I'm sure nvidia would not have it any other way.

3. yes.

4. yes the big boys are for gamers specially with 1900 x 1200 and higher res. tho I'm sure folders like myself will love these also, then there is 3D and etc.
