If I chose to have duel boot on my new computer how does downloading new drivers work.  Should I first chose my vista option during turn on and then download the vista drivers.  Switch to xp and then download the xp drivers.  Could somebody explain this to me?

Assuming you're using the same file system (NTFS) for both OSs, it doesn't matter literally how you download the drivers, but that probably wasn't your real question.

You definitely need to be running the related OS when you install the drivers. Each OS exists on its own hard disk partition and operates as if the other OS doesn't exist. Other than deleteing files, anything you do while running one OS is not going to affect the other. You want the driver installed on the correct partition and in the correct operating environment.

the easiest way to think about it is like this:
picture a dual boot machine as 2 seperate computers that are "networked".

To install drivers/programs/games you have to do it for both OS's seperately. It really doesnt matter which one you add drivers/programs to first. However when INSTALLING the OS's, it is MUCH easier to put XP on first, then whatever flavor of Vista you intend to put on.
