Hi guys, just got a quick question I was hoping you could answer. I've currently got one XFX NVIDIA GTX 280, and digital storms stage 2 air cooling (no liquid cooling yet). I was thinkhng of buying a second 280 before they disappear altogether due to the end of the cards manufacturing run, I was curious to know if I could run both cards without overheating they system with the current cooling or if i would need to upgrade to a gpu water cooling kit. Thanks.

what case do you have? what is your temps on the 280 now? what is your room temp?

you should be fine, the cooling for your GPU comes from its own fan, so that is where most of the cooling comes from.

LC on GPU is not needed and hinders future upgrades or fixing existing issues.

this is my current setup
Case: Cooler MAster 850 SI (large vents on top and sides as well as bottom)

Current GPU Core Temp is 54-55 degrees (usually idles between 45 and 48 though (playing a game at the moment) Also have Riva Tunrer and have the fan on gpu turnned up to 75%

current case cooling: air cooled stage 2 (from about 9 months ago anyways) with silent arctic  heat-sink upgrade and copper pipes
