Dual-GPU Radeon HD 5950 and HD5970 coming in November

Late

Multiple sources are suggesting that R800, the card codenamed Hemlock, is going to come out in late November.

Samples are already out in the wild and, as expected, the TDP is definitely exceeding 300W. Once it launches, this card will finally take over the performance crown from Nvidia's Geforce GTX 295, but there is a big chance that ATI's performance leadership might only last a few weeks, since Nvidia is still planning to launch its Fermi card in 2009.

HD5950 and HD5970 cards will certainly assure the top spot for ATI.

Fermi in 2009?

That's surprising considering all the problems that Nvidia have been rumored to be having, but still that would be very nice :P

Too late, picked up the 5870..  What a beast!  I had to literally smash it into the case to get it to fit.  Performance is excellent in Fallout 3 with everything maxed out, and it is very quiet. :D

Have yet to try other games but I expect them to run just as flawlessly as FO3.

congrats!!
now you can play with Dx11!   lets see what you can get out of it!!

Dx11 benchmark

use this tool for overclocking, it will allow you to adjust voltage also.

post up some results. Smile
should be able to get core at 1000Mhz-1050Mhz  ATI left a lot of overclocking potential in them.

Damn 1000Mhz!  I will have to start overclocking this weekend.  How high have you clocked yours?

Thanks for the links and info. :D

That Heaven benchmark is really something to see, it is beautiful.

I am still holding out, I am just running my old 4890's but I can bench those @ 1050Mhz, 1025Mhz  for 24/7 use.
A friend of mine with dual 5870's, not overclocked was about 25% higher than my dual 4890's clocked to the nuts on the crysis benchmark. So I am waiting for a bigger jump in performance. lol

That overclocking software works for ATI and Nvidia cards. Only a few Nvidia cards have decent voltage regs, so not many Nvidia cards can  use that software to adjust voltages.
I am going to see what Nvidia has to offer..Either way it will be good.

And to DST I think I posted this 5970 info a a while back, lol my little birdy is way ahead of FUD. Tongue
