    Posted: 31 Jan 2011 at 9:09pm
After my wife awesomely decided to upt my new PC budget to 3500, I'm exploring a dual monitor setup. I want to do ISP monitors if I can, as i have heard they are the best. Probably want to game @ 1900x1080, or higher if i can with dual monitors and a single 570 card (while still getting 50+FPS on most games).

DST suggested a dell ISP monitor to me, but they might be a bit pricey for me, as I dont want to exceed about 700 combined for both monitors.

Anyone got any suggestions? Ill post my new config I'm exploring below. The keyboard/mouse/speakers Im not ordering through DSO, but through a retail store.

You gonna want sli 570 if you want highest settings and high aa and 50+ fps with dual monitor.

2 x Dell UltraSharp U2311H 23 ips = $558

build looks good, either go with p8p67 mobo for no sli and 750w corsair psu, or go pro version and 1000w corsair psu for sli capabilities.

other then that your build looks good for one monitor at 1900 x 1200

So how good would my fps be if I went no sli and was playing say starcraft2 at 1900x1200 with dual monitors? I dont necessarily need high AA, but would like 45+ FPS at least with ultra settings on SC2.

From what I've read ultra settings with a 570 are easy on SC2, but would that still be applicable with dual monitors at 1900x1200 res? And if i OCed the card to 580 performance (which ive heard is easy) would that help?

Hi coronablade,

You can get two NEC Mutisync Ea231WMi-Bk from Amazon for $528 with free shipping. I understand it uses the same LG eIPS screen that Dell uses. This unit has a flat screen and you won't get the exaggerated colors you might get from a high gloss screen like HP uses on some of its TN monitors. The frame is also flat black and I don't get any reflections form any part of the monitor. It has one of the best stands available in this price range. A full range of adjustments including height. The stand is heavy and resists tipping in any direction. The two viewing angles are 178 degrees.

I have had mine since Christmas with no problems at all. You need to do your research before you decide on any monitor.

Ithink I've already decided on the dell monitors dst suggested but thanks man. Its actually cheaper cuz my wife gets a 15% discount from dell for her pampered chef job lol.

I really just wanna know if my single 570 will handle sc2 at ultra settings with dual monitors with decently high fps.

How do you play a game on dual monitors exactly? The monitor bezels would be right in the center, it would look terrible.

NEC makes some good monitors, the Ea231WMi looks good, but it has a lower brightness then the dell, and uses a bit more power, but that is not a big deal at all.

I think you should be fine with one 570 but I would go to their forum and ask and see why people gaming at that res think.
