My DS PC is in stage 5 at the moment
, and I was going to have a dual monitor setup. I was just wondering if it was possible to run a game, such as WoW or SCII, on one entire monitor, then have a seperate desktop on the other, instead of having the game across both screens. I'm pretty sure it is, but as I've yet to experience a multiple monitor setup, I just wanted to make sure. I have the Dell Ultrasharp 23" IPS panels. Here's my config as well if that helps.Specifications: |

Yes, if you split them like that, you can do 2 monitors per card, I have 4 gpus, so I could have a 8 monitor setup like that, but I only use 5 of them.
Now if you wanted to have both monitors act as one, that would be a different story, just fyi. main monitor will go to the top left dvi connection, and the other ports will be the added monitors. You set those settings in your nvidia control panel (ncp). |

Thanks DST, ya I don't want both to act as one, def want them seperate as far as that goes. Thanks.
Plan on playing games on one then surf the web/music that type of the thing on the second one, possibly play two games at once if they can handle it lol ![]() I figured that theyd be separate but just wanted to confirm as I've never done it myself, thanks for the great advise as always. |

When you get it, if you need help let us know, all you go to do is just into windows display properties, and extend the desktop on the second monitor by choosing the option to do so. then the monitor connected to the top left dvi (main monitor) will have the full desktop, icons/shortcut, windows bar and all, and teh second monitor connected to the right dvi port will have the desktop background only, now you can drag and drop apps and etc between the two, for example surf on the main monitor, while you drag and drop a media player on to the second monitor and listen or watch video on that, so you are surfing on one and watching video on the other.
