I believe it could, but my question would be why stream at such an extreme rate? A much less expensive card could do a very good job for you as a dedicated encoder couldn't it? (I don't do this, I just read a bit.)

Bear in mind, vast majority of people who might be viewing your stream will only be doing so on a 1080p, or at best 1440p monitor. Save yourself a lot of money! Just my opinion you understand.

so you think the one 3090 would allow me to stream at high rez and still get good frames on high settings?

That's not what he said. What he said, and what I was getting at, is that nearly $2000 so you can stream a high fps 4k image to people, 95% of whom can't display it, seems like a total waste of money.
AFIK, one GPU may cause some compromises in performance in either your gaming, or your streaming, or both. I have heard you can get another card and set it up for streaming only, but you would do well to realize most people will not see a high-end streaming image, and get a much cheaper card to encode with. Your best bet is to see what you can get out of a single 3090, and then decide what you want to do. It may meet all your needs, but we don't know. Go ask the streaming crowd? |
