It's possible to have that many duplicate files, but not easy.
What's the name of the program? What are the names and locations of some of the duplicate files?
I'd Google the name of the progam to see what the buzz about it is before I'd pull the trigger. Edited by Bill the Cat - 10 Feb 2008 at 11:20am |

You'll probably find a number of those files Windows based. It should warn against deleting any Windows based files, duplicate or not. I run a Reg Cleaner program and run a duplicate file search also, but I leave anything Windows based alone. Those files you're bringing up won't be an issue for a system. Be very cautious when running a program like this. You may find yourself installing Windows again.

Just a note. If your really serious about deleting files or just want to play. I would suggest you have a program like True Image and backup your disk first. Then rename the dup file before actually deleting it.
For example if he file is 'ms.suc' I rename it to 'TOBE DELETED ms.suc'. rebootig and run ALL you major prgrams before actually deleting it. Usually if a problem occurs you can just rename the file back to it's orignal name. BUT without the backup you will probably pick the worst possible file to delete and can't even boot up.
With a solid backup image you can really mess around but be sure you have a bootable copy of your imaging software.
