I noticed today my monitor is DVI-D (Single Link) and the EVGA GTX 580 I noticed has a DVI-I (dual link) connector...will I be able to use my current monitor or will I need to buy a new 1? Whats the difference between the 2? Does it matter at all even?

DVI-I (means DVI Interlaced, which means it can support either DVI-D or DVI-A{analog}, it just means this port has legacy support for analog connections but will work fine with a digital connection)
DVI-D (means DVI digital) Anyways a little chart;
ninja edit;
p.s. you wont have any problems.
