Hey guys.
I was just wondering about my CPU temperatures. On average, just not gaming, they run about 57-60 degrees Celsius. During gaming maybe higher, up to 68. Is this normal? I have vista 64 and speed fan does not seem to work. Using coretemp v 0.99 for readings. Is this ok? if not what do i do? the case you supplied me seems to be fine but these readings seem high. Thanks, Joe ![]() |

Speedfan is not going to regulate your fan speeds unless you set your fans to run on manual in your BIOS.I would say that, yes, those temperatures do seem a little high, but not enough so that I would be scared of damaging anything. I prefer to try and keep my core temps under 60*C. You can always try setting your fan speeds to 100% in your BIOS and see what, if any impact that has on your temps.

Check out the article below on CPU temperatures.
Its alot of info, but it has some tables for each chip type if you just want to skip to the good part of what is considered safe for your chip.

Alright.
As to the speedfan and BIOS thing, can someone run me through how to do this. I am a complete noob when it comes to things like this, haha. |

My E6850 runs at 66 C under 100% load and 45 C at idle (2/3 freq.). Ambient temp in the room is on the cool side.

Ok well I called them up and they tried walking be through changing the setting through my BIOS, but apparently it wouldnt work. (My BIOS wont support it) I got the ambient temp in the room down to 23 c from 26 c and thats really all i did. Still a little concerned, idiling now at mid 50's after resuming standby a few min ago and got as high at 74 today while running FSX.
hmmm ps. sorry for double post Edited by USMC1419 - 05 Aug 2008 at 5:00pm |
