I know I have seen the whole dual vs. quad core debate a few times in these forums, but I was wondering with the revamped dual cores coming out soon, should this issue be revisited especially when considering gaming applications?

I have read some reviews of the new E8800 series and it seems they will offer some great OC'ing ability and considering many games do not take full advantage of quad cores, I am leaning toward waiting for these new dual cores to come out to order my new PC from DS.

Wondering what the rest of you think :)

EDITED for horrible spelling and typos ;p

Also as a side note, any word on when the E8800 series dual cores will be available here at DS and in the online customization lists?

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

It really depends on what you are going to do with it...

Q6600 is more of a multi-tasking, editing processor while the E8x00 is mostly for everyone else.

If you just game and aren't a enthusiast, a E8400 ($219) or E8200 ($199) would be amazing processors.

The E8x00 processors are expected to be on sale in North America on Jan 20th. So you can expect them on Digital Storm's config page by the end of January.
The only thing that keeps me wishing on a wishing star.
