Hello there,

I've had my pc for a while. There was a symptom of it that occured occasionally while gaming, the screen started to glitch, went to black and started display some green and purple graphical pixel errors on the screen and the sound of the game still play as if nothing happened, i had to force restart to get my pc to work normally again. Other than that, my pc was working fine.

Recently, i started to play pubg with my friends and it occured a new error that the game would crashes to desktop and window displays the message "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered", sometimes there weren't any messages and the screen went to black and windows explorer started to comeback again (similar to end and start explorer.exe in task manager).

As i play more and more, the crashes occured more frequent until i can no longer play any games anymore because it keep crashing to desktop on any games even with the low graphic dependent game like Heroes of the storm.

Sometimes, the crash happens after i played for some minutes, sometimes it crashes on game menu.

I've tried reinstalling or updating gpu driver many times, checking the temperature. But i can't get it to work again. Can you guys please provide me some solutions about this?

My specs:
cpu: intel core i5 4460
ram g skill ripjaw 8gb
psu seasonic 620w
vga asus r9 290x
main asrock b85m pro4

Seems to me your GPU is biting the dust. It's what, 5-6 years old? You could get about a 15% performance boost for about $170 with a GTX 1650 SUPER, but for another $60 or so you could get a 1660 SUPER and get a 37% jump in performance.

I agree with Cretae. It looks like your gpu is on its last legs. What you describe seem like artifacts that gpus put out when dying or dead. Make sure when you start searching for a replacement, that your psu is strong enough for it. Good luck.

Those cards I suggested will be fine at 620W.
